Day to be Thankful

Thanksgiving is tomorrow! I have so much to be thankful for this year, and hopefully you guys do, too! :)

Every year I attend a party with my extended family--aunts, uncles, cousins--and there isn't really a dress code like the ones we have for Christmas parties. Due to the massive amount of food we all end up consuming, people usually come in more casual, flexible clothing.
This year, I felt like going a little more dressed up. However, I'll be wearing a sweater dress, which still goes along with the comfy setting of my Thanksgiving parties. In contrast to the soft and casual dress, I put on this textured navy/purple blazer. I'm really into mixing pieces that normally have very different uses (ex. girly dress w/ biker jacket); I like to think they stand out more when I put outfits together this way. Because this dress ran a little big around my waist, I put on a slim patent black belt to make it fit just the way I want it to (personally, I think it looks better this way). To finalize this outfit, I slid on these awesome spiraled tights that I bought from American Apparel. I saw them first in one of Jenn Im's videos and I fell in love with them and had to buy them for myself. Along with keeping my legs warm, I think they are an interesting asset to all my outfits and I'll be honest, I always catch people staring at them whenever I walk by, haha. I've been wearing them a ton this season! Also, once again, I'm wearing my black boots. Forgive me, I've been meaning to buy another pair of boots since I'm constantly wearing these in every post!

That wraps up my Thanksgiving outfit post! I hope you all are having a great week and enjoy spending time with family/friends tomorrow. Don't forget to make that mental list of all the things you are thankful for.
always, Kaycie

Red Sweater Weather

I just bought some new sneakers last weekend so I thought I'd put together and share a quick & casual outfit for you guys.

Lately I've been loving cropped sweaters because of the cute high-waisted skirts/bottoms you can pair with them. These combinations of clothing also, in my opinion, look great with longer jackets and create flattering proportions for me. Once it gets cold, I'll start pulling mine out to wear with outfits like the one below.
I bought this red sweater at Forever21 for under $20, which is a great price for the quality and color of it. I find that Forever21 often has a lot of trendy items for much lower prices, so those of you who aren't into splurging should definitely stop by.
Another thing I want to talk about is my beanie. I found it in the men's section at H&M, fell in love with it immediately, and bought it in less than a minute. I really like the color of the beanie--it's sort of a dark blue-green--and it is one of my favorite colors to wear in the fall. I find that I like the shape of mens/unisex beanies better than girls' because they're smaller and more fitted. This isn't the first time I've worn something I've found in the men's section; often, you can find a lot of great items there, so try it out! H&M, especially, has some great clothing and accessories, even for girls.

Ways to Wear: Leather Jacket

Autumn has finally hit us! The colder weather has just begun to hit us here in Southern California, which means we'll all be pulling out our favorite winter outerwear. This year, mine is my recently purchased leather jacket. Leather jackets are so versatile and work with almost any style and just about every season. Today, I wore it with a cut t-shirt from a The 1975 concert that I went to a few days ago. I also wore some plain blue pants and my favorite pair of boots to keep things neutral.

[left to right]: me, Sarah, Emmy. We all wore band tees and heavy black jackets.
