Winter Lookbook 2013

In 2010, Jenn and her roommate, Sarah, began posting some of their first YouTube videos which included hauls, thrift tips, and simple Q&A's. About a year following the channel's creation, Jenn moved up to Northern California from LA and Clothes Encounters became purely hers. Despite the girls' separation, she continued to post about her daily fashion life and slowly gained more and more followers who were interested in her style. Now, 45 million video views later, Jenn Im is one of the most widely admired fashion gurus even outside of the United States. With new videos every week, committed subscribers comment positively on her unique and affordable outfits. Her videos, however, are not exclusive to just plain old ootd's anymore. Often, Jenn posts highly requested videos such as "What Would Jenn Wear?", seasonal lookbooks, beauty & makeup routines, travel vlogs, monthly favorites, and many more! Also, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that Jenn's fashion taste appeals to just about anyone. Whether you're a laid back tomboy, bohemian babe, or a classic girly girl, Clothes Encounters has the perfect outfits for you. Jenn Im constantly inspires viewers to channel their inner fashion guru by showcasing her cool style for girls of all ages to mimic. At the same time, she still manages to maintain a very signature "Jenn" look. How does she do it all? Overall, I'd just like to say that Jenn Im will always be #1 on my style icon list.

Stripes & Stones

Now that the holidays are over, it's time to delve into the new year, which means 365 opportunities to showcase your vamped up, reinvented style for 2014. Now is the time to experiment with your wardrobe and spice up your traditional, everyday looks.
I've never been one to wear necklaces honestly, so I thought I'd start off by trying out this chunky geometric necklace with deep blue stones. I ended up really loving the way the silver tone complemented the zipper detailing on my outerwear. I found that mounting the stones on a plain grey/black background and framing them with the black lapels on my moto jacket truly made the necklace stand out. I think during this new year I will start keeping an eye out for more chunky jewelry to wear around my neck. As for choice of denim and shoes, well 1. you can't go wrong with rich indigo denim, and 2. a good pair of black ankle boots keeps things simple, yet chic.

p.s. I finally got my hair cut a couple days ago! I've been wanting short hair for a while now, but I never got around to it. I guess it goes with that whole "new year, new me" thing. Anyways, this is by far the best decision I've ever made and I'm so relieved my long locks are finally gone.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the first week of 2014! Check back soon for more posts. xo
